Charles Cains professional bio reads like a Whos Who of project management. Over the years that Charles has worked in project management, some of his projects are very recognizable. Projects include the relocation of CMT Digital and its computer datacenter from the Opryland complex to its present location in downtown Nashville, TN. Other projects include the annual CMT Music Awards event site since its inception, the TNNRacing.com website, the original Country Music Hall of Fame site, the original CMA Awards site as well as the original Country.com website back in . It was in those early days that Charles approach to project management was formed. Before Agile was fashionable, Charles and the teams he was part of on those projects operated very much in Agile. The business unit and the development team established priorities and then worked in a collaborative fashion to achieve the necessary results. Nowhere else was this more apparent than with TNNRacing.com. Each week a new list of priorities was established, work began on those priorities and rolled out to production. Impediments that were identified in testing or upon deployment were then identified and placed into a list of issues to be corrected in the next cycle. All of this was happening in the late s. Upon becoming part of Viacom, Charles has been involved in coaching others in project management methods and software. He has trained others in the use of software packages such as Atlassian Confluence and JIRA, CA Clarity and has advised countless personnel on Agile practices for many years. Charles has an alphabet soup of certifications such as the Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) and Certified Scrum Master(CSM) from the Scrum Alliance, a Project Management Professional (PMP) as well as a Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) from the Project Management Institute.
